Attitudes Towards Technocracy and Populism: New Project Approved

We are happy to announce that the proposal of Bernhard Wessels (WZB Berlin Social Science Center), Alex Trechsel (University of Lucerne) and our Research Affiliate Levente Littvay for the inclusion of populism and technocracy attitude items in the European Social Survey's (ESS) six-wave online panel ESS CROss-National Online Survey-2 (CRONOS-2) has been accepted.

ESS is an academically driven cross-national survey that has been conducted across Europe since its establishment in 2001. Every two years, face-to-face interviews are conducted with newly selected, cross-sectional samples and now followed up with a web panel. The latest call requested questions on a key academic or policy concern within Europe to be included on waves 4 and 5 of the web panel.

According to the approved proposal, four elements - populism, technocracy, visions, and evaluations of democracy - will be covered by the combination of CRONOS-2 data with ESS 10 data.
