The Orban regime is not driven by ideologies, only applies them, our Senior Research Fellow Balint Magyar said in an interview with Partizan.
He talked about the opposition in the 80s in Hungary, about the transition, the liberal party (which for two years he was Chairman of), his two stints as Minister of Education in Hungary (1996-1998; 2002-2006), and about the Orban regime. Ideology-driven values form a coherent system, but “he releases a balloon, some fool says something stupid, and then if he really doesn't like something, he revokes it,” he said.
