“Community organizing is a new approach to civil society development in post-socialist Eastern Europe,” our Research Affiliate Bernadett Sebaly writes in her article in Sozial Extra.

“With a strong focus on "people power" and progressive values, it can effectively transform civic and political culture. For countries affected by democratic backsliding and autocratization, it offers a recipe for building participatory, egalitarian democracies that go beyond the formal conditions of the rule of law,” she argues.
