Jacquelyn Veraldi is a law PhD candidate at the University of Cambridge, Trinity College (2019–2022), with her doctoral research focusing on abuses of dominance in the pharmaceutical sector in Europe. She holds an LLM from Cambridge, an LLB from Groningen, and a BA from Waterloo, and is interested in broader issues of competition law and EU constitutional law. With the CEU Democracy Institute Rule of Law Working Group, Jacquelyn researches the application of the rule of law to private power in the EU, under the supervision of Professor Dimitry Kochenov. The focus of the project is particularly on the extent to which the EU value of the rule of law is undermined by the exercise of arbitrary power of business actors.
