Learning Opportunities

The Institute aims to connect international students with world-class researchers to gain understanding and insight into the factors and actors impacting the health of democracies as they prepare for future careers.

Doctoral students from CEU and other universities will be able to apply to spend their field research year or writing period at the Institute,  benefiting from the mentorship of Institute researchers and/or working as pre- or post-doctoral researchers at relevant workgroups during or immediately after their studies.

Similarly, the Institute offers training opportunities to PhD students from CEU and other network institutions whose work relates to the research agenda of the Institute.  Students start working online with researchers in the Institute and join in person for a year, then continue the work remotely.  With this endeavor, the Institute seeks to create a network of PhD students dedicated to the revival of democracy, students who can also use their knowledge and get teaching experience by providing teaching and mentoring services for undergraduate courses in the Open Society University Network.
